Call goes out for support from local businesses

THE Marlin Hotel Social Golf Club will honour the memory of Barbara Cooper by hosting a charity golf day and donating the proceeds to the Milton Ulladulla Cancer Outpatients Appeal.

The day is planned for October 20 and the club is calling on businesses to get behind the worthy cause through sponsorship or donations.

Organiser Gary Cooper said the day would be a lovely way to remember loved ones lost to cancer.

"The day is being arranged in memory of Barbara Cooper, who passed away from bowel cancer in 2005, and a number of locals who have also passed away from cancer," Gary said.

"We hope the community will get involved and use the day to raise funds for the Cancer Outpatients Appeal, along with having a good time socialising with friends and family.

"It is also hoped the day will raise awareness of how cancer affects our community and the need for treatment facilities to be available to people in the area."

The club is calling on businesses to sponsor the day or to donate items for the raffle.

"We really need local businesses to get behind the day and help us raise some money for the appeal," Gary said.

The golf day will be held at the Mollymook Beachside Golf Course and players will enjoy breakfast, lunch, golf and refreshments along with raffles and an auction for only $60 per player.

Players will also get a specially designed hat as a memento of the day.

All proceeds raised through golfers fees', the raffle and auction will go towards the Cancer Outpatients Appeal.

The day is open to everyone, with any level of golfing experience and will be a fun filled and relaxed day.
